Force for the Forest is a not for profit organisation that raises funds to support the Leuser Ecosystem, the last remaining lowland rainforest in SE Asia.
We have a protected area the size of Belgium or the State of Maryland with viable, increasing populations of all the major animals – 800 Elephant, 7,500 Orang-utan, 300 Tiger and 120 Rhino plus all the other species.
We are successful in preserving this rainforest because we are a multi-national force that has been working in Indonesia for the last 25 years, building a coalition of support in the highest levels of Government, which allows us to not only lobby to gain the correct laws but also to ensure the police enforce them.
There is no logging in our forest.
There is poaching, but we are cracking down on it using ex-terrorist jungle fighters to patrol – the poachers are terrified of them.
No animal species will be lost while we look after the forest.
We are aiming to make the Ecosystem self-sufficient, but in the meantime we rely on donations and grants to keep the forest and the animals alive. Please join and help us on our main website
